This past weekend, I had the wonderful opportunity to attend a Kentucky Derby-themed Dinner & Auction hosted by Saint Ignatius Loyola Regional School – and let me tell you, it was truly a night to remember.

From the elegant table settings to the stunning display of Derby hats, there was no shortage of style, spirit, or generosity in the room.

But beyond all the fun and festive vibes, what really stood out to me was the sense of purpose that filled the space. Every dollar raised goes towards supporting the school’s mission of providing students with a strong, values – driven education – and that mission is something I’m genuinely passionate about. Having worked with children and families throughout my legal career, I understand that education is one of the most powerful tools we have for building stronger communities. Our kids deserve the very best start in life, and schools like Saint Ignatius Loyola are making that a reality every single day.

I also had the pleasure of chatting with many amazing parents, teachers, and alumni – people who are deeply committed not just to their children’s academic success, but also to their character growth. Their dedication reminded me of the values I was brought up with: community involvement, personal responsibility, and a commitment to serving others.

It’s these kinds of events that remind me why I decided to run for judge in the first place. The courtroom isn’t separate from the community. Our legal system impacts real lives – and those lives begin in homes and classrooms just like the ones this school nurtures.

I’m truly grateful for the chance to be part of such a meaningful evening, and I look forward to continuing to support organizations that share my belief that every child deserves a bright future.
