It’s tough to express just how motivating the IM ABLE Foundation’s annual BASH really was.

On Saturday night, I found myself in a room filled with dedicated supporters, athletes, advocates, and families, all brought together by a common belief: that everyone deserves the chance to lead an active and fulfilling life, no matter their physical ability. The work the IM ABLE Foundation is doing to turn that belief into reality right in our community is truly remarkable.

Throughout the evening, the stories shared were deeply touching – people overcoming challenges, building self-confidence, and discovering joy through adaptive fitness and recreational programs. Their journeys were a powerful reminder of why access, inclusion, and opportunity matter so much – not just in sports and activities, but in every part of our society, including our justice system.

As a parent, community member, and legal professional, I feel strongly that empowerment starts when individuals feel recognized, heard, and supported. That’s exactly what IM ABLE does: it listens, it supports, and it opens doors for those who are often overlooked.

The BASH raised essential funds to grow adaptive programs, acquire specialized equipment, and continue outreach efforts that break down barriers. The evening was charged with energy, inspiration, and a sense of purpose, and I walked away feeling more dedicated than ever to push for fairness and inclusion in everything I do.

To the team at IM ABLE: thank you for showing us what’s possible when we focus on ability rather than limitation. You’re changing lives every day, and I’m proud to support your mission.
